Sisu is a Finnish term that can be roughly translated into English as strength of will, determination, perseverance, and acting rationally in the face of adversity. However, sisu has a long-term element in it; it is not momentary courage, but the ability to sustain the same.
An unplanned pregnancy requires courage over time, no matter what choice is made in the end. The requisite adversity surely persists over time; only sisu can carry us through.
